Oral Health

Thank you for supporting National Children's Oral Health Month.

The Stratton Community Foundation helps local children who live in the rural mountain communities of southern Vermont to have access to dental supplies, education, and preventative services.

Consequences of bad dental hygiene are extensive, and include pain, difficulty eating, infection and overall poor health, contributing significantly to illness, poor nutrition, academic performance, unemployment, and poverty.

Schools continue to seek our help for solutions. They report teens who have never been to the dentist, graduating seniors who cannot enter the service or job force due to extreme tooth decay, young children who are not eating properly due to pain and the inability to chew, rising emergency room visits and missed school attendance.

We have realized a significant gap in health services available which require our active leadership, and thanks to you we are able to provide access through in-school dental programs, dental kits and education, and build community partnerships.
